Earlobe Repair In New York City

Introduction

Renew Your Earlobes with Expert Care

Wearing heavy, dangling earrings can cause your piercing hole to stretch over time. In some cases, the tissue becomes so stretched that it may tear through. At the practice of Dr. Craig Baldenhofer, earlobe repair is a quick, simple procedure in which we core out the stretched piercing hole or open the flaps of a torn earlobe and stitch it back together, allowing it to heal.

If this procedure sounds like something you can benefit from, you may schedule an appointment to begin your earlobe repair journey in Manhattan, Long Island (Huntington and Massapequa), and the Tri-State area.

What is Earlobe Repair?

Earlobe repair, also called lobuloplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to fix torn, split, stretched, or sagging earlobes caused by heavy earrings, gauging, or trauma. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, where Dr. Baldenhofer removes damaged tissue and restitches the lobe. This helps restore the earlobe’s shape, creating a natural-looking result that blends with the rest of the ear.

Combining My Earlobe Repair with Other Procedures

Our patients in Manhattan, Long Island, and the Tri-State Area often combine at least one additional procedure with their earlobe repair to address multiple concerns in a single session, saving money in the long run.

Otoplasty is designed to create the desired aesthetic appearance of the ears by restructuring, repositioning, or reshaping them for a more balanced, proportionate look.

Your Guide to Post-Earlobe Repair Care

You will experience minor swelling after your earlobe repair surgery. Tylenol can be taken for any discomfort.

After 6 weeks, the ear can be re-pierced, and earrings can be worn again. While this procedure can be permanent, continued wear of heavy or hanging earrings may stretch the hole out again. We advise patients to wear studs or very light hanging earrings only to maintain long-term results.

You will need to attend a handful of follow-up appointments so Dr. Baldenhofer can check your healing progress and remove the sutures.

How Much Does Earlobe Repair Cost in New York?

The cost of earlobe repair in Manhattan, Long Island, and the Tri-State Area generally looks different for each patient. The cost is influenced by the complexity of the procedure, the type of trauma being repaired, and the experience of the provider. All of these factors contribute to making a unique amount, which will be communicated to you during your consultation.
