However, you should avoid strenuous exercise and activities that involve sweating for at least a couple of weeks to avoid straining your neck and interfering with the healing process.

Patients are also prescribed pain medication to help alleviate the discomfort from the swelling and incisions. You will need to attend several appointments after your surgery to have your sutures removed and your healing monitored, so you should stay in the Manhattan, Long Island, or Massapequa area and wait until Dr. Baldenhofer approves your travel.
